Plasti Colors
PlastiColors was established over 25 years ago when Quintin Maine
bought Chemical Pipe and Vessel and changed the name to Plasticolors,
and started making masterbatch in January 1976.
PlastiColors is one of the leading producers of colourants and additives
for plastics in South Africa and is located in its own factory in Sebenza,
Edenvale.
PlastiColors was the first masterbatch producer in South Africa to achieve
ISO 9002 accreditation by the SABS, which was granted in 1995.
PlasticColors has agents in Durban, Cape Town, Harare, Zimbabwe and Mauritius,
w e are masterbatch suppliers to South Africa, Central Africa and internationally.
We are continually optimising our recipes in close cooperation with selected
raw materials suppliers, producers and customers. In addition to our wide
ranging standard product portfolio, we offer solutions which have been
especially adapted to your needs.
Colour Masterbatches
A full spectrum of colours and special effects are available for all processing
methods.
They can be based on carriers suitable for any polymer, and colourants
are selected to be the best for such requirements as high temperature
processing, contact with food, good light and weather stability etc.
If required, additives such as UV stabilizers, flame retardants or slip
additives can be incorporated as part of the total formulation for ease
of mixing.
Computerized Colour Matching
We offer a colour matching service based on computerised colour measurement
technology using the Datacolor Spectraphatometer which can draw on a range
of well over 10.000 colours created over many years.This offers fast response
to your matching requirements and consistency of colour when subsequent
production batches are made.
Liquid Colours
For applications which benefit from having a liquid carrier we can offer
finely dispersed pigments in a range of liquid carriers such as plasticisers
for PVC, polyols for polyurethene and resin for polyesters, among others.
The liquid colour can simply be added to the bulk liquid and stirred in.
Powder Pigment Blends
Where powder pigment blends can be dispersed satisfactorily in the processing
machine we can offer a full range of colours and additives for use in
most converting methods including injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion,
roto mouldings.
Additive masterbatches
We offer a range of natural additive masterbatches such as UV stabilizers,
antioxidants, slip and antiblock, antistatic,
flame retardent, blowing agents etc based on carriers selected to be the
most appropriate for the polymer to be modified.
